Kameron Raburn was elected as Mayor of the City of Ennis and began his term on May 13, 2024. He had served as City Commissioner for Ward 3 since May of 2022. Mayor Raburn was born in Ennis, Texas and is a 6th generation Ennis resident.
He concurrently attended Waxahachie Global High School and Navarro College. He graduated from Navarro, Magna Cum Laude, with an Associate of Science in General Studies, before graduating from high school. Kameron went on to attend the University of Texas at Arlington, where he graduated, Cum Laude, with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. Mayor Raburn worked his way through college at Midway Regional Airport's Big-Q-Aviation, as a ground operation coordinator. While working there, he logged flight time in various single engine aircraft and gliders. His junior year of college, he was selected through the National Science Foundation to work at Polytechnic University in Valencia, Spain as a Geotechnical Research Assistant, researching hazard mitigation of civil infrastructure through deep dynamic compaction of unstable soils. Kameron now works as a Texas Licensed Professional Engineer in the transportation and infrastructure sector.
Mayor Raburn is a member of many organizations, including: American Society of Civil Engineers, Rotary Club of Ennis, Ennis Heritage Society, and Ennis Chamber of Commerce. He has a passion for public service with over 10 years of service as a volunteer firefighter and first responder. He has served on the Garrett Rural VFD and the Ennis VFD. He is past president of the Ellis County Firefighters' Association. Kameron also served as the Vice Chair of the Ennis Historic Landmark Commission.
Kameron is married to his high school sweetheart, Cassidy Harris. They have two daughters, Presley and Charley. In his free time Kameron enjoys trout fishing, skiing, and camping. He also enjoys world travelling, and has traveled to 10 countries. Mayor Raburn believes the secret to success is hard work, determination and persistence.
